Outlaw Day 2010

Outlaw Days this year was very eventful!!!

Mason & I entered a 5k walk that morning that ended up being more of a 10k! It was a lot of fun...Mason rode his bike & I walked. I was able to walk 6.5 miles in 1 hour & 17 minutes!!! I was really proud of myself, but I was hurting & barely able to walk for almost a week!!!

Mason then rode in the parade with my dad on the wagon while I took pictures of everyone! Jose was able to watch the parade with me, but spent most of the day hauling water to the arena for the mud bog pits. We were both not very happy because he didn't get to enjoy any of the festivities! Down at the arena Mason rode a calf & entered the Barrel Racing. I ended up having to run in front of him & his horse because Ridge didn't want to go! He would chase me if I was running in front but if I stopped then he wouldn't move!!! I told Mason that I didn't know that I was entering the Barrels too! Mason had a lot of fun because he was able to spend most of the day in the arena with his Papa on his horse!

My birthday was the day after Outlaw Day and so Outlaw Day night Jose took me out to dinner at Jaker's in Twin. Mason stayed at with my mom & dad for the night.

On the day of my birthday we had a family bbq at my mom & dad's. My brother smoked a couple of roasts in his big smoker, plus we had a ton of other food! It was great to be able to spend time with my family!!

Here are some pictures from Mason's Outlaw Day adventures!! :-)

Long time no post!

A lot has happened in the last year, but I am glad to be back with my family and enjoying life again!! I will try to get caught up on the happenings of my family!

Mason just finished tball last week and he is really bummed out. He really loves to play and now he doesn't know what to do with the rest of his summer!! Thank goodness he starts swim lessons on the 12th!!

Here are some of his tball pictures from this year :)

Outlaw Days

The Richfield Outlaw Days was held on Saturday and it was definitely a very wet and interesting day!! I have never in all of my life seen it so wet at Outlaw Days! Usually we are dying of heat stroke!! We actually cancelled most of the arena events because it was raining too hard and the arena was just too muddy! Although the events that we did do were quite comical because of all of the mud! The kids had a blast during the calf riding falling of into the mud.

Mason decided that morning that he wanted to run the barrels, something that he has never done before! My mom and showed him the pattern on a piece of paper and then had him show us a couple of times how he would run it and then that afternoon for the first time Mason ran the barrels on my brother's horse! He had an absolute blast and can't wait to do it again! It was raining so hard while he was running them, but he didn't care he was having fun! I was so proud of him, he handle the horse so well and acted like he had done it a million times instead of it being his first time ever!!

Jose and I stayed busy helping make sure that everything ran smoothly. Jose helped time the events and I helped take entries, plus then we both went out into the muddy arena to run the kids events. Jose and I didn't even go out for the night festivites though. We were way too tired both Friday night and Saturday night.

Saturday was also my 30th birthday. I can't believe that I have turned 30!! It doesn't seem like it should be real, but yet I don't think that I should have a son that is going to be 7 and going into 1st grade either!!! I am getting really old and I don't like it!!!

Random Pictures

I have been into taking pictures lately with a variety of subjects. Jose bought me a really nice camera for Christmas two years ago and I have really been into playing around with it lately. I have been getting some pretty neat pictures and I thought that I would share them.

HE FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!

After 4 years, Jose finally cut his hair!!! I never thought that it would happen and I have been bugging him for so long to cut it, but he finally decided that it was time. With him out of work and trying to find a job he decided that it was time to get rid of the long hair. He has had it long for so many years that Mason can't remember him ever having short hair!!! There are a lot of people that Jose is friends with in Richfield now that have never know him without the long hair. After he got it cut Mason had a t-ball game and so many people were surprised that it was actually him!! I think that he looks so handsome and I am so happy that he cut it.

Of course we had to take pictures of him with his long hair before we cut it so that he could have them for memories! Jose's mom was so happy when we stopped by her work after he cut it that she almost started crying! I am actually very proud of Jose because he has donated his hair to Locks of Love to be made into a wig for someone with cancer. This will actually be the 3rd time that Jose has donated to Locks of Love.

He's still not sure this was a good idea!

T-Ball

Mason is half-way through his T-Ball season and is doing quite well. He is actually a pretty good player and really loves the sport. Every day he asks if he has a game that day, that is how much he loves to play!! I don't know if I could handle that much t-ball, but I know that he could!! When he isn't playing then he is out in the yard practicing with our neighbor boy, Cody.

Cody is so good with Mason, I don't know what we would do without him! Cody is 15, but doesn't mind playing with Mason whenever he asks. He climbs over the fence pretty much everyday and will spend hours with him! He is such a lifesaver during the summers. Mason is really missing Cody this week because Cody made it to the State High School Rodeo Finals in Pocatello so he is gone all week, but we are definitely wishing him the best of luck!

We are hoping that Mason will keep his interest in baseball throughout his teenage years because it is really good for him and he is actually a pretty good athlete. They have a traveling baseball league in Shoshone that he could play on when he gets older that I think would be really good for him. Hopefully he will continue to play!

Happenings

It has been so long since I have posted anything I thought that I had better put something on here!! We have been staying so busy with High School Rodeo Season every weekend that it seems like we don't have time to do anything else, but we wouldn't trade it for anything.

My mom is the District Secretary for our local high school rodeo district so Jose and I have been helping her every weekend at the rodeos and Mason gets to go and watch. He loves being at the rodeos and being with my parents.

School is winding down here. We officially have 2 days left. Mason was done last Friday, but gets to go back to school tomorrow for the Elementary Field Day. He is so excited to be out of school for the summer, but I know that his excitement isn't going to last long because he will be bored within a few days and want to go back to school. He absolutely loves school. He has learned so much this year. I can't believe that he is going to be in First Grade next year!! He is growing up way too fast!!!! I am not ready for school to be out because that means that I am unemployed for the summer! I am trying to find summer work, but there just isn't any jobs out there right now. Hopefully I will find something soon!!

Jose is still laid off right now and he is currently looking too. We are hoping that he finds something soon. He has been getting a lot done around the house, but he is ready to go back to work. He is tired of being at home. He has accomplished a lot this winter by being at home and he has almost completed his high school diploma online. I am very proud of him, he just has a few courses left.

Mason has also started T-ball again this year so that should keep us pretty busy for the next month or so. He loves playing any sport and is actually a really good athlete.

That is what has been happening around here lately. Hopefully it won't be so long before I write next time!!
